The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival officially begins tomorrow (Friday, April 26th, 2013). In honor of Jazz Fest Eve, we are unveiling our 2013 Jazz Fest Poster!! Here it is in its natural habitat (near an authentic NOLA shotgun house).

I've been working on a collection of 7 oval-shaped paintings featuring the notoriously colorful birds. More pics (and more peacocks!) coming soon, but for now here's the first almost-completed painting on a wood oval — 24"x20".
And a sneak peek of the 6 companion pieces! (Still in progress ;)

Chess doesn't need to be boring. Just check out our one-of-a-kind, signed Chess Board! $225. <3 Available in-shop or can ship with an online order!

I'm so happy to announce that mom and I had car magnets printed!! It really turns our car from a vintage bug into an official company car, and personally I think the magnets look fetching! It's Wish Dog on one side and Gallery Burguieres on the other, so we can weave in and out the NOLA streets showing off both sides of our bourgeoning business. It's occurred to me, though, that I'll now have to be more conscientious when I drive. I cannot cut people off, or go around them at stop signs, mostly because it would reflect badly on the business and the magnets will tell people exactly where to find me. So here's to embarking on a new level of branding and embracing a kindler, gentler way of driving!! Wish Dogs and Gallery Burguieres are keeping me honest. Or at least keeping me from being an obnoxious driver.
I asked the printer if they needed any special care, and he said just don't go over 120mph with the magnets on. I'll try.

Yesterday mom and I took the Wish Dogs on the road (a few miles down the road, into the Bywater...) to the Piety Street Arts Market! We had almost no idea what to expect, as it was our first venture to Piety Street. We loved it!! There were tons of amazing vendors, with food, drinks, jewelry, art, clothes, books — anything and everything you could ever want. Highly recommended for local shopping and a fun Saturday outing!!

100% real, local, handmade Mardi Gras beads!! (Made by me ;). At $25 each, they are affordable pieces of original art!! Share the love and celebrate the season with Wish Beads. Find them at 736 Royal Street, or buy online at www.WishDogandFriends.com.

It was a quiet Tuesday and everyone gathered for a nice, relaxing brunch. Then the Saints and a whole bunch of New Orleans notables showed up and started waiting tables, competing for "tips" (Bridge Bucks), and raising funds for the Bridge House Grace House. The entire event, including live and silent auction, was made possible by Bridge House Grace House and Saints player Will Smith's foundation — When There's a Will There's a Way. Tons of funds were raised to support individuals working to overcome substance abuse and addiction. It was an incredible event, and I was honored to be one of the "Celebrity Waiters". How fun is that?!?!?!?

We all got sweet aprons. Included here with the Saints guys are legendary singer Charmaine Neville and fellow artist and supertalent Terrance Osborne!
FOX 8 was there and did a great segment on the event:
And if you're curious about who was there and the idea of Celebrity Waiters works, the Morning Show did a great rundown!

If you've been keeping up with the Gallery you know our Wish Dogs are really taking off!! We're having a great time sharing them, promoting them, and hearing rave reviews from people who've discovered them at Fleurty Girl shops, picked up a handful at the Gallery, or even got them as gifts from friends. And you can get them online and even get tee shirts and postcards

We recruited our favorite New Orleans actor, Laura Flannery, to model the new tees. Stunning!!! (Cocoa and Director of Photography Ian Campbell even joined in the fun.)
Thanks to Laura for her talent, Ian for his skills, and Cocoa, for being as cute, fluffy, and orange as ever. <3 xoxoxo
